A Much Needed Update!!

Hi ya all...sorry it has been a while since I posted to our blog. This post is a catch up, pictures will be posted soon...

Everything around here has been crazy. Jeff left for an army obligation to Indiana around March 10th...

Jeff also received his new duty station assignment. Detroit Michigan. It is the Detroit Arsenal. It is an extremely small post, if you can even call it a post. Jeff is going to the Acquisition Corp, which is extremely marketable on the outside. He has to attend school in Alabama from Sep to Dec and then onto Michigan.

Since we have a home we purchased here, it was time to look at selling...yipee. I listed the house and after that it got beyond crazy around here. There was soooo much to do to the house...painting, cleaning, organizing, landscaping, etc. Our real estate agent had me twisting in the wind and so strung out. He was awful and really made life miserable. As of today and my posting this blog update, July 8th- he is now no longer our agent - YEAH! We are now looking at renting our house out - I am a little scared but we will see what happens. If all else fails, the kids and I can come back to the house...hopefully it will all work out. My sister and her hubby Terry were able to come up and help me paint the majority of all the main rooms, including the master bedroom - it was so great and so helpful. I have gotten a lot of things organized and done...I even created a front patio area for a porch swing...it was a lot of work but am proud of it!

So April/May/June were all about the house and me surviving Jeff being in Indiana for an Army thing. The kids drove me up the wall, Jeff and I came to some blows over our relationship and the frustrations we have been feeling for too long! We were going to completely call is quits at one point...but, Let's just say, for right now things are at a truce! We know we both need to go to counseling, both couple and separate...so that is in the works, amid all the other stuff going on. It has been interesting to search the feelings that are going on and figure out what to do...

Jeff came back home June 30th. The kids were so glad to see him!!

We planned a family trip with my sister to Myrtle Beach SC. We rented a condo right by the ocean! We went July 2nd and stayed thru the 4th of July, checking out on the 5th. It was a great few days and we had a wonderful time! The beach was beautiful and the kids had a blast. It was good to spend time with my sister, her hubby, and the 5 youngest kids.

After saying goodbye on the 5th, Jeff, the kids and I headed North. We went to Bald Head Island, NC. It is a little island off the coast of NC wih one of the lighthouses, called "Old Baldy". You have to take a passenger ferry out to it. There are no vehicles on the island...just golf carts, condos, people, and beautiful beaches. The ferry ride was neat and on the way we could see one of the other lighthouses...it is an ugly one, the Oak Island lighthouse, but hey we got to see it. Bald Head island was nice and the lighthouse was neat. We got to climb the stairs and see out the top area where the light used to be housed. It was very HOT inside and that day. After that we headed to Wilmington, NC and spent the night at a hotel.

The next day we headed over to the USS North Carolina Battleship to tour it and the museum. Awesome! We were going to head to Kure Beach and the Aquarium after that but everyone was exhausted and we felt it was time to head on home. So we did and it was good to get home.

Today July 8th found us waking up early and taking both Nate and Jeff to the airport. They are headed to WY to visit Emily for a week. The girls and I are here and I am doing school and catching up the blog.

SO there, you are now caught up. Give me a couple of more days for pictures. The new family picture of us is from inside the "Old Baldy" lighthouse. The kids pictures are from the trip...
talk to you all soon
Sherry

Hang in there! You have A LOT on your plate right now that is hard on a marriage when you are living in the same house every day let alone when you aren't: Army job, kids, moving, kids, house, kids, etc. . . You need each other - the kids need you - he's not perfect - neither are you. Do what you can to get back to living in the same place and keep praying! Ever heard of MarriageVine.com? Good stuff there! Hang in there!!!
