Continued Updates...August - Dec

When we got home from the beach and all that - we listed our home to rent/sell. Once we got out of the nightmare con tract with the nightmare agent we were able to put the house on the market to sell and BOOM we got an offer within 12 hours! It was awesome. We did give a lot for the sell as far as what the buyers were requesting but at that point we just wanted out...so we did only a tad of negotiating. It was a bit hard to leave our home behind but it has all turned out okay...and that chapter of our life is closed. Our home there made us a bit spoiled though - in dealing with the house we are now living in here in MI.

Besides selling our home - Jeff got the crazy idea to purchase a new vehicle for me - a van. It took some finagling but we got it...very nice and drives great.

Movers came to pack us out August 3rd and 4th, we made needed repairs, paint, etc...said goodbye to my sis and family. We will now be about 12 hours from her instead of 3.

We left NC on August 13th at about 5:30p. We drove until 2am stopping at hotel in West Virginia. The next day headed the rest of the way to MI and arrived the evening of the 14th. It was very exciting to cross the state line! We pulled over to take a picture of us at the "Welcome to Michigan" sign and realized my camera batteries were dead! Dang it! ARGH! Then I realized after continuing on that we could have used Jeff's i-Phone...oh well.

The first hotel stay was beyond icky and not a great hotel but found a better one the next day! We then ended up having to stay at the hotel for over a week as the owner of the house hadn't even moved yet...what fun that was! Yipee! Close quarters! I had to do my Biology class online at the same time - that was even funner! But I survived that and we all survived the hotel stay...barely! LOL

We finally got to move in on August 23rd. The house needed ALOT of cleaning! AAAHHHH! Mr. Tom has never rented a home before so I do not think he realized that a good cleaning from top to bottom from a cleaning crew, a fresh coat of paint, and carpets cleaned would have been in order...so it wasn't done! We have done most of that but still need to do some painting...sa la vie. The house is HUGE and the basement is a great addition to space!

The neighborhood has kids - 2 girls 5 and 6 across the street from us! The girls have become great friends and play all the time together - it is so neat to have that -it does have some draw backs especially when they get whiny and snippy with each other- but it is cool!

Our household goods came Sep 2nd - what fun that always is! So crazy! We found a teenage girl from church who came over to help out with the kids - she was a blessing in disguise and a total lifesaver! We also found an older sister - well she isn't old - around my age but her daughter are already 19 ad 21 - so she helped a lot too! Jeff and I even got to go to The Phantom of the Opera in Detroit while she babysat for us! AWESOME show and a really good night!

Nate and Brooke started school on Sep 8th. Brooke in Kindergarten and Nate - we had him doing the 4th grade again. It was a choice based on maturity level NOT academics. It has worked out very well and he has met some great kids! He has even made a best friend - Edmund. They are great friends and again it is awesome to see!

Jeff left for Alabama and Acquisition Core Training on Sep 13th. It is a 3 month course. So - as usually the army wife is doing all the moving in and putting things away - but since I am anal retentive and it takes me a while to figure out where I want things - I guess that works out!

Nathan turned 10 on September 19th! WOW a decade old! Amazing!

The kids and I got into a routine or as much as we could. I am enjoying MI so far - everything close, accessible, and convenient - much better then driving so far just to get to a store and the doctors. Almost everything is within a 15 minute window! Whoo - hoo!

Jeff came home for a weekend in October and then came home for Thanksgiving. Now we are just counting the days until he gets finished and comes back on the 19th of December.

Brooke turned 6 years old on Dec 6th! She had a birthday party on the 11th at a little girls fantasy place - called Little Miss Mya's! It was so awesome and there were 10 friends there along with her sister making it 11. It was awesome for her to have a party...

We got snow and the kids loved it - it hasn't been a terrible snow winter yet and the meteorologists say we are way behind...it is cold cold cold though. It is bitter cold and freezes my nose hairs...total brain freeze - too much fun.

Here are the pictures from August to December 19th...

Bekah came with me and really enjoyed herself...

Our first good snowfall of the season - not a ton but enough to have to shovel and play in! The kids loved it - I of course like to look at it,not play in it - unless I am dressed for it and at this point I am not!

So now you are updated! LOL! I will try and keep up this next year! LOLOLOL!
